The project
The project "e-Dispilio: DIGITAL REPRESENTATION, PROMOTION, AND DISPLAY OF THE PREHISTORIC LAKESIDE SETTLEMENT OF DISPILIO" was implemented by the Research Committee of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) within the framework of the action "Protection and Promotion of Cultural Heritage and Their Functional Networking – TRANSFERRED WORKS" of the "Western Macedonia 2021-2027" Program.
Neolithic Dispilio
The Neolithic Dispilio represents a community of farmers who settled on the shores of Lake Kastoria (L. Orestis) around 5800 BCE.
Neolithic Dispilio
Dispilio is a Neolithic settlement inhabited from the early 6th millenium BCE until the Early Bronze Age at the end of 3rd millenium BCE. Neolithic settlements in Greece known to research are hundreds, and many more are still unknown. The peculiarity of Dispilio is the installation in a humid environment on the shore of the lake.
