Fishing

People of Dispilio certainly benefited from the wealth that the lake offered to their diet.

On the shores with the reeds and waterlogged vegetation, but also in the deeper waters, large and small freshwater fish abounded, most of which still exist today. At the same time, several small streams ran into the lake, which would also be rich in fish.

The innumerable fish bones, fishing weights, hooks and puzzling objects, such as the 'harpoon', discovered in the excavations at Dispilio, are evidence of the fishing everyday life of the inhabitants of Dispilio.
