“e-Dispilio: Digital Representation, Promotion and Showcase of the Prehistoric Lakeside Settlement of Dispilio”
On Thursday, 17 September 2026, at 10:00 a.m., a presentation event for the project:
“e-Dispilio: Digital Representation, Promotion and Showcase of the Prehistoric Lakeside Settlement of Dispilio”
will take place at the “Limnaion” Hotel in Dispilio, Kastoria.
The project is co-financed by the European Union and national resources through the Managing Authority of the “Western Macedonia” Programme of the Region of Western Macedonia, within the framework of the “Western Macedonia 2021–2027” Programme (NSRF 2021–2027).
Within the framework of the project, the Digital Representation Centre of the Prehistoric Settlement of Dispilio was created at the Archaeological Site of Dispilio. The Centre features a range of impressive digital applications, including a video presentation of the prehistoric settlement, a digital representation of the excavation stratigraphy, holographic displays presenting selected archaeological finds, an interactive map on a large touchscreen, a Virtual Reality (VR) exploration application, and educational games.
During the event, the design and implementation of the project, as well as the methodology followed for its scientific documentation, will be presented.
Following the event, participants will visit and receive a guided tour of the Digital Representation Centre of the Prehistoric Settlement of Dispilio, located at the Archaeological Site of Dispilio.
