Rings

Small diameter rings, interpreted as rings, are little known in Neolithic jewellery making and are objects associated with the most personal aspects of bodily decoration, often with strong symbolic connotations.

At Dispilio, the largest proportion of this category of jewellery is made of deer antler and is a unique set of jewellery in Neolithic Greece. Their exact use, i.e. what their position on the body was, cannot be ascertained with certainty. They could have been 'buckles', clothing or hairdressing accessories, or even tools unknown to us.
