Boat-shaped vessels

Boat-shaped vessels

The boat-shaped vessels are a category of the pottery typology of Dispilio.

These pots resemble the shape of a boat and are the only, possibly so far, evidence for the presence of floating vessels at Dispilio.

Because of their coarse-grained composition and the traces of firing on their walls, these vessels were thought to have been used for cooking, probably of the fish from the lake.
